                                        Inaugural editorial: A new journal and a new

                                        opportunity

                                        The moment a nephrologist attempts to publish his work on the complex interaction
                                        between  end-stage  renal  disease,  accompanying  psychopathological  and  cognitive
                                        impairment, distress and hopelessness, reduced quality of life, and brain alterations
                                        marks  the  beginning  of  a  challenging  journey.  It  is  an  unfortunate  fact  that  many
                                        nephrology or psychiatric journals in the market have specific focus on their respective
                                        fields, neglecting the overlapping niche is of significant medical value. This explains why
                                        many medical practitioners who have interesting findings to report are stepping on a
                                        challenging journey as their papers will most likely be declined for not being able to
                                        meet the scope requirements.
                                          There are journals for such integrative psychosomatic research, which cover biological
