particle characterization were successfully optimized. We have shown a device capable of a

               95%  sorting  yield  when  singularizing  microscaffolds  at  100%  precision  when  the  sorting
               solution was challenged with 50% defective constructs The precision of the system enabled not

               only the automation of scale-up production of BBs within a variety of cell-culture wellplates,
               but  also  allowed  automated seeding  of cell and in  turn  growth  of single  spheroids inside

               microscaffolds with up to 1536 wells, ensuring a high throughput of building block formation

               within a time window of 24 h.

               Overall,  the  results  of  our  study  advanced  the  production  of  previously  optimized  hybrid

               spheroid  microscaffolds  as  modular  tissue  buildng  blocks   to  provide  a  robust  basis  for
               production pipelines aiming at the third strategy for tissue engineering.
